In Division I-A:
Irvine 65, Rancho Cucamonga 62--Shawnee Stevens hit a three-pointer with about a minute for the Vaqueros (12-12). Stevens finished with 21 points, including two three-pointers. Irvine will play at Chino Saturday night.
In Division II-A:
El Dorado 67, Villa Park 30--Shanna Renken scored 14 points and Heather Cunningham added 10 for El Dorado (20-5), which plays Rubidoux in Saturday’s second round.
In Division IV-A:
Lancaster Paraclete 51, Orange Lutheran 33--Junior Liz Pappas scored 11 points and senior Jen Zweig grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lancers (15-9). Orange Lutheran made only 10 of 49 field goals.
In Division II-A:
Laguna Hills 56, Canyon 46--Tayyiba Haneef had 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots as Laguna Hills (17-7) upset host Canyon (20-7). Sarah Spjut scored 15 points for Canyon. Laguna Hills next will host Inglewood.
Kennedy 59, Los Altos 57 (2 OT)--Natalie Gallaher’s rebound and put-back with seven seconds remaining in the second overtime lifted Kennedy (15-9), which next plays at Brea.
In a Division IV-AA wild-card game:
Corona del Mar 63, L.A. Sacred Heart of Jesus 51--Ashley Conover scored 17 points and Melissa Ford added 11 for visiting Corona del Mar (12-14). The Sea Kings will face Los Angeles Notre Dame Academy (15-5) in the first round Saturday.
In Division IV-A:
Whittier Christian 76, Santa Monica St. Monica 37--Alana Kempton scored 28 points, including six three-pointers, for visiting Whittier Christian (18-7). Kim Menke had 17 points and Faye Tsiramenes added 11 for Whittier Christian, which plays Sun Valley Village Christian in Saturday’s second round.
In Division V-A:
Liberty Christian 44, Pico Rivera Mesrobian 35--Becky Rendon scored 16 points for Liberty Christian (11-11), which next plays Arcadia Rio Hondo Prep at a site to be determined. Lynlee Vaccaro added 10 for Liberty Christian.
