I'm a major, white, overpaid, mouthy sports figure. I'm being interviewed on TV and say, "That's why I hate black people."
Repercussions? Oh, yeah!
Sir Charles (Barkley) was right. He's no role model.
Where is the public outcry? Where is the outrage? Al Campanis and Jimmy (the Greek) Snyder were ostracized for making far less inflammatory remarks.
This is just another flagrant example of an arrogant, ignorant, overpaid sports person speaking with impunity.
The only thing big about (Barkley) is his mouth.
Chinese swimmers have responded to the outrage over their swimmers' use of anabolic steroids by calling Western swimmers racist. They're right, of course. Westerners have long promulgated an offensive stereotype of the Chinese--hard-working, contemplative, sensitive, respectful of tradition, honorable.
Come on, America, they're not all like that!
