HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Bradbury’s Goal Lifts Buena Into Quarterfinals

Todd Bradbury’s goal with two minutes left in overtime gave Buena High a 3-2 victory over St. John Bosco in the second round of the Southern Section Division II playoffs Tuesday at Bellflower.

Jose Mendoza had a goal and an assist for Buena (14-7-4).

DIVISION III

Notre Dame 3, Santa Maria 1--Hernando Chavez scored in the seventh minute and Chris Sailer scored twice in the final seven minutes for the Knights (14-7-1).

DIVISION IV

La Canada 7, Ganesha 1--Josh Henderson scored five goals for the Spartans (22-0) at Ganesha.

GIRLS’ DIVISION II

Buena 5, Bishop Montgomery 1--Monica Almaraz scored three goals for the Bulldogs (26-2-2).

Ventura 5, Arcadia 3--Maggie Dwire scored two of her three goals in overtime for the Cougars (16-7-2) at Ventura.

Crescenta Valley 2, Mira Costa 1--Heidi Greco scored with 10 minutes for the Falcons (19-1-3) at Mira Costa.

DIVISION III

Canyon 3, Walnut 2--Cristie Burnett scored her second goal five minutes into overtime for the Cowboys (13-7-2) at Canyon Country.

Moorpark 2, Bishop Diego 0--Elizabeth Christiansen scored twice for the Musketeers (11-7-3).

DIVISION IV

Paraclete 4, La Salle 2--Lisa Ament scored twice and Monica Griffth scored the game-winner in the 22nd minute for the Spirits (19-2-1).
