Scotty Thurman stole the ball and passed it to Clint McDaniel, who made the winning shot just before the buzzer sounded Wednesday night to give eighth-ranked Arkansas a 92-90 victory over Louisiana State at Baton Rouge, La.

Arkansas, 22-5 overall and 10-4 in the Southeastern Conference, had to come back repeatedly during the game. The Razorbacks led, 87-86, with 1:39 to play when Corey Beck was called for an intentional foul against Ronnie Henderson. Henderson made one of two free throws to tie the score at 87-87.

Henderson tied the score again with 15 seconds left with a left-handed layup, then gave LSU (11-12, 5-8) a 90-89 lead with a free throw.

“I just wanted to make something happen,” McDaniel said. “Scotty knocked it from behind right into my hands. I didn’t know how much time was on the clock and I didn’t know whether or not to take it in for a layup or take a quick shot, so I just shot it.”
