Trouble in 1994
Mike Scyphers was suspended last May and investigated by police and the school district on charges of financial and disciplinary improprieties. Scyphers admitted accepting $2,000 for the use of the Simi Valley High field, a violation of district policy, and to using the money to pay his assistants, a Southern Section violation. Scyphers was cleared of criminal wrongdoing June 8 and his coaching suspension was lifted.
