Azusa : Board Orders Probe of Water Contamination
The Regional Water Quality Control Board this week ordered the Azusa Landfill to investigate the nature and extent of ground water contamination from its operation.
The board required the landfill, run by Browins- Ferris Industries, to install water monitoring wells to determine how far plumes of pollutants extend from the site.
The company must test for three compounds of the cancer- causing chemical benzene, as well as other toxic substances.
