4.6 Quake Strikes Mammoth Lakes

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. —
A moderate earthquake struck the mountain resort Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
The magnitude 4.6 tremor hit at 4:07 p.m. eight miles east-southeast of town, said seismologist Will Huston of Caltech.
No damage or injuries have been reported, said Scott Brown, public safety officer for the Mono County Sheriff’s Department.
Mammoth Lakes is in the eastern Sierra about 320 miles north of Los Angeles.
