A Camarillo woman was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run when she arrived at a hospital to pick up her alleged victim, authorities said.

Rebekah Gamble, 36, of Camarillo, was arrested Sunday morning when she arrived at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks to meet Oscar Corado, 24, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Bailey.

Bailey said Gamble lost control of her car while driving westbound on Thousand Oaks Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. Sunday. Corado, a passenger, was ejected from the car and was hit, Bailey said.

Gamble left the scene on foot and called a taxi to take her home, Bailey said.

Gamble was released on her own recognizance, and Corado signed himself out of the hospital after being treated for back injuries, Bailey said.

Authorities said Monday that they are continuing to investigate the incident.

Bailey said the couple may have been fighting when the accident happened, and that Corado may have been trying to exit the car when Gamble lost control.
