Lobdell Named Editor of California Community News: William Lobdell, editor of the Newport Beach-Costa Mesa Daily Pilot and three Orange County weeklies, assumes the job immediately. He will have overall editorial responsibility for the California Community News group, which publishes the Glendale News-Press, Burbank Leader and Foothill Leader as well as the Pilot and the three weeklies. Lobdell, 34, has been editor of the Daily Pilot since 1990. Glendale-based CCN is a unit of Times Mirror Co., which publishes the Los Angeles Times and other newspapers.
