PASADENA : City College President Announces Retirement

Share

Pasadena City College President Jack Scott, who oversaw several multimillion-dollar construction projects during his eight-year tenure, announced his retirement Wednesday.

Scott, 61, of Altadena, will leave the school Nov. 30 to become a distinguished professor of higher education at Pepperdine University. Scott started his college teaching career at Pepperdine in 1962.

Shortly after coming to the Pasadena college in August, 1987, Scott initiated a $100-million master plan, a blueprint for campus development. Since then, a library and a parking structure have been built. An education center for east Pasadena is under construction and a $3.8-million on-campus child development center is expected to be built by next year.
