NBA ROUNDUP : Kidd Takes Warriors Apart on His Home Court

Jason Kidd set career highs with 30 points and 17 assists in the arena where he played collegiately for California, helping the Dallas Mavericks end a four-game losing streak with a 130-125 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Oakland on Monday night.

The Warriors, who entered the season with a 14-game winning streak over Dallas, have lost three in a row to the Mavericks. Dallas’ 130 points were a season high.

Tim Hardaway led Golden State with 30 points and 10 assists. Chris Gatling had 27 points and 15 rebounds, both season highs.

Houston 97, Atlanta 86--Hakeem Olajuwon scored 31 points and had 11 rebounds as the Rockets ended a four-game road losing streak by defeating the Hawks in Atlanta.

Olajuwon scored the go-ahead basket on a jumper from the corner with 6:54 left, breaking an 81-81 tie and starting a nine-point Rocket run that clinched the game.

Washington 106, Charlotte 103--Gheorghe Muresan scored the go-ahead basket with 24 seconds left and the Bullets shot 74% in the fourth quarter to overcome a 19-point second-half deficit and upset the Hornets in Charlotte.

Michael Jordan practiced with the Chicago Bulls for the third time in a week, but left without commenting on his future. Coach Phil Jackson said he hoped Jordan would return but said he really didn’t know if it would happen. . . . Richard Dumas, who has missed nearly two seasons for violating the NBA’s substance-abuse policy, was taken off the league’s suspended list. But before Dumas plays for the Phoenix Suns again, team president Jerry Colangelo said, the 6-foot-7 forward must publicly apologize to fans, teammates, coaches, ownership and the media.
