Simi Valley 6, Edison 0--Adam Springston allowed one hit in six innings for the Pioneers (4-1) in an El Segundo tournament game. Vince Catani opened the sixth with a single for Edison (2-2). Bill Castonguay pitched the seventh for Simi Valley.

Glendale 5, Burbank 1--Bryan Chan singled, doubled and drove in two runs for the Dynamiters (2-0).

Camarillo 4, Oxnard 3--Rodell Desamparo singled in the fifth inning, went to third on Matt Buttell’s double and scored on Mike Muller’s sacrifice fly to put the Scorpions (3-1) ahead to stay in a nonleague game at Camarillo.

Saugus 5, Palmdale 2--Brad Fogel pitched a six-hitter with five strikeouts for the Centurions (2-2) in a nonleague victory at Palmdale.

St. Bonaventure 4, Santa Clara 0--Jeremy Scarlett and Jake Brown each doubled, and Ryan Tauber had a two-run single for the Seraphs.

Thousand Oaks 3-4, Lompoc 1-3--Tim Baron (1-0) notched his second save for the Lancers in the opener and pitched two innings to earn the victory in the second game.

Westlake 9, Moorpark 2--Corey Kling was three for three and scored three runs for the Warriors (4-1) in a nonleague game at Moorpark.

Ventura 5, Buena 1--Jeremy Pierce had two hits and pitched five innings to lead the Cougars (3-1) in a Westside tournament semifinal at Buena.

Oak Park 4, Carpinteria 0--Brian McMullen had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (1-0) at Oak Park.

Village Christian 7, Fillmore 3--Jason Robitaille (1-0) struck out seven of nine batters he faced and collected three hits for the Crusaders (2-0).

Chatsworth 13, San Fernando 1--Jon Tucker had a double and a triple for Chatsworth (3-1, 1-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game and Harry Kenoi pitched a five-hitter.

El Camino Real 4, Cleveland 3--Byron Carnes singled with two out in the seventh, stole second and scored on an error for the Conquistadores (4-1, 1-0) in Northwest Valley game.

Granada Hills 4, Taft 3--Jarrett Gold scored from third on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth of a Northwest Valley opener. Sean Lavery had a two-run home run for the Highlanders (4-1). Josh Goldberg pitched a three-hitter.

Sylmar 8, Monroe 6--Chris Ruley had three RBIs, including a two-run home run, to lead the Spartans (3-1, 1-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Montclair Prep 1, Whittier Christian 0--Amanda Kelson’s one-out single in the 10th inning drove in the only run for the Mounties (4-0).

Chatsworth 17, University 0--Parisa Plante pitched a no-hitter, striking out 14, in a nonconference game called after six innings because of the 10-run rule. Plante tripled and homered.

Reseda 12, Taft 0--Rosie Yeatts was four for five with two doubles and five RBIs for the Regents (4-0).

Granada Hills 2, Monroe 1--Junior Jessica Creith had a two-run triple and pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Birmingham 4, Granada Hills 3--Anthony Gabriele rallied in the second set to defeat Alan Dominguez, 6-1, 6-4, for the Braves (3-1, 1-0) in a Northwest Valley match.

Crespi 13, Saugus 5--Alex Quinn and Brian Smith each swept three singles matches, and Antonio Castillo and David Kushell swept three doubles matches for the Celts (3-0).
