Arvizu Lifts Cal Lutheran

Ray Arvizu’s two-run single in the seventh inning lifted the Cal Lutheran baseball team to a 6-4 nonconference victory over Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday at Cal Lutheran.

Eastern Connecticut State (6-2) entered the game ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III. Cal Lutheran (8-7) is ranked 24th.

Arvizu had three hits--including a double--and drove in three runs. Steve Fjeldseth (1-0) shut out the Warriors on three hits and struck out six over the final 3 1/3 innings.
