Greg Bratschie of Granada Hills passed Mike Price on a yellow flag during the 25th lap and went on his first victory of the season in the Street Stock main event at Saugus Speedway.
Price was held up by a three-car accident in Turn 4. When Price was forced to go high in the turn, Bratschie sneaked past on the inside.
Fourteen drivers were penalized in the Street Stock division for failing to conform to stricter car restrictions. Violations ranged from locked rear ends to not having rear brakes.
John Cappi of Reseda finished third in Street Stock and Northridge’s Jeff Drummen was fourth.
Drummen qualified for the main event when Palmdale’s Mike Suber was penalized for illegally passing on a yellow flag during the final qualifying heat.
Bellflower’s Terry Limberopoulos won the Mini-Stock main event, going wire to wire.
Sean Woodside of Saugus won his first race of the season when he took the checkered flag in the 50-lap Super Late Model main event.
Woodside passed Simi Valley’s Steve Nickolai on the 18th lap and didn’t relinquish his lead. La Crescenta’s Ken Sapper finished second and Rodney Peacher of North Hills was third.
Nickolai, who finished fourth, was involved in a mishap on the 41st lap. Craig Rayburn and Nickolai collided in the first turn. Rayburn got a flat tire, but was able to finish in sixth place.
