A 17-year-old boy was slain and his 16-year-old companion suffered minor wounds in a shooting attack early Tuesday in Pomona, police said.
Deshel Bell died at the scene of the 12:23 a.m. attack in the 2200 block of Carlton Avenue, according to Pomona Police Sgt. Frank Holder.
Bell’s companion, Darnel Williams, was treated at a hospital for wounds to his leg and was released, Holder said. No arrests were reported.
Police said they were not certain if the shootings were related to a drive-by shooting in the 2100 block of 2120 Ramsey Way on Monday in which 49-year-old Billy Griffin was killed.
