Courts: Woman Accused of Dognaping

Share

As I understand from reading The Times (“Lost Dog II,” South Bay section, March 2), $24,000 has already been spent on the case against Edie Warwick, the alleged Lawndale dognaper. As I see it, she is a dog-finder.

She took it home and advertised for an owner. When the French family responded, the dog did not recognize them and they had no proof of ownership.

I cannot understand why a dog owner would have no record of a rabies shot or dog license, both of which I thought were required by law.

Now the court and Judge James Brandlin want to continue this ridiculous case and spend more ime and taxpayer money.

I hope they think this through and see how wasteful this is and get on with more important cases, and let Mrs. Warwick get on with her life. All she is guilty of is looking out for the welfare of a lost dog.
