Pop Album Chart : Selena Albums Still Selling Well

Share

Selena’s fans continue to buy her albums, with “Amor Prohibido” jumping from No. 92 to No. 36--a remarkable showing on the pop charts for a Spanish-language collection. Four of her other albums are selling well enough to reach the lower half of the Top 200. Montell Jordan’s debut album, “This Is How We Do It,” entered the charts at No. 20, getting a strong boost from the title song, currently the nation’s No. 1 pop single. More singles news: TLC’s “Red Light Special,” a strong No. 2, could be the one to replace Jordan in the top spot.

* Duran Duran should be thanking fans for not listening to critics, who haven’t been kind to “Thank You,” the band’s new album of cover tunes. It premiered at a very respectable No. 19.
