ALHAMBRA: A 33-year-old Alhambra man was shot...

ALHAMBRA: A 33-year-old Alhambra man was shot and killed at 9:20 p.m. Saturday after an argument over money. Jose Flores was shot in the 2500 block of San Clemente Avenue as he was walking in an alley with his estranged wife, police said. After Flores was approached by three men, an argument ensued with one of the men, to whom Flores apparently owed money, police said. One man punched Flores and another shot him, police said. Flores died at the scene. His wife was not hurt. No one has been arrested.

ALHAMBRA: Armando Loya, 42, of Alhambra, was shot and killed Friday in the 1200 block of North Monterey Street as he was returning home with his wife, sheriff’s deputies said. No further information was available and the motive was not known.

INDUSTRY: A 54-year-old Southern Pacific Railroad brakeman was killed Friday after being hit by a train. The man, who was not identified because relatives had not yet been notified, died at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina an hour after the 8:35 a.m. incident in the 12300 block of Amar Road, sheriff’s deputies said. The man, whose legs were severed and who went into cardiac arrest, was apparently directing the train when he was struck.

IRWINDALE: A container holding about 200 syringes and needles was found Tuesday. A driver reported seeing the container near Bateman Street and Meridian Avenue at 6:45 a.m., police said. The Fire Department disposed of the container.
