Pulitzer for Times
Re “Times Awarded Pulitzer for Coverage of Quake,” April 19: After last year’s quake I wanted to write to The Times to say that I thought you deserved a Pulitzer Prize and not just for great reporting. Your paper went way beyond that to become an important element in the healing process of this community. As people struggled to put their homes, businesses and lives back in some kind of order, The Times pulled together a wide diversity of vital information that helped us do just that.
But there was something else you provided that I’ve never seen mentioned, something I first noticed at the time of the L.A. riots. And that is continuity. In both cases, amid all the chaos, somehow, someway, there on my doorstep every morning was The Times, familiar and reassuring.
