Continental Announces Summer Fare Discounts

HOUSTON — Continental Airlines on Monday announced a sale of up to 35% off tickets bought from today through May 10 for domestic travel and through Sept. 15 for trips on some international routes.
The lowest fares are available for Tuesday-through-Thursday travel. Lesser discounts apply to travel Friday through Monday. For example, a $109 fare is available each way from Cleveland to Phoenix, $58 less than the regular discount fare of $167.
Major airlines generally match substantial fare sales on competitive routes.
Houston-based Continental said tickets for the summer fare sale must be bought for round-trip travel 21 days in advance and within 24 hours of making a reservation. They are non-refundable and require a Friday or Saturday night stay.
