3-Car Crash Sends One Into Swimming Pool : Accident: Vehicle smashes through wall. Driver is pulled from water.
A three-car collision Wednesday evening sent one of the cars through a block wall and into a back-yard swimming pool, police said.
The chain of events began at 6:15 p.m. when Jean Troung of Garden Grove, northbound on Magnolia Street, was in a collision with a car headed east on Edinger Avenue, Police Lt. Andrew Hall said. One of those two cars then struck a third car stopped in the southbound lanes of Magnolia, he said.
Troung’s car then headed west, through a block wall, and landed in the pool in the 8900 block of Sapphire Avenue, Hall said.
Troung had to be pulled from the pool by a witness.
Hall said there were no skid marks at the intersection and guessed that one of the cars--he did not know which one--had gone through a red light.
Hall said Troung may have been disoriented.
