School Is Bit Older
* On April 29, you carried an article, “Refurbished Center Holds Open House.” The article states that the Maple Community Center in Fullerton was built in 1929, when it was a kindergarten through 12th-grade school.
Actually, the school had to be built early in the 1920s, because my older brother entered kindergarten at Maple Avenue Elementary School (in the southern part of Fullerton) in 1925. I became a kindergartner two years later in September, 1927.
I still have the report cards to prove it.
