BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : Blue Jays Put Guzman on Disabled List
Toronto Blue Jay starter Juan Guzman was put on the 15-day disabled list because of a muscle imbalance in his right shoulder. Pitcher Edwin Hurtado was called up from double-A Knoxville. . . . New York Yankee starter Scott Kamieniecki was eligible to come off the disabled list, but is not expected to recover from his sprained right elbow for at least two more weeks. . . . Cincinnati Red reliever Mike Jackson, recovering from shoulder soreness, made his first start for double-A Chattanooga as part of a medical rehab assignment and pitched a perfect inning. . . . The San Francisco Giants purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Shawn Barton from triple-A Phoenix.
