Man Fatally Shot in His Neighborhood

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday morning after being chased through an apartment complex.

Police said they found Juan Arce Osuna lying in the grass alongside the sidewalk in front of the complex at 1133 S. Poplar St. shortly after 1 a.m. Osuna, who did not live in the apartment building, had been shot in the torso.

“Osuna appears to have been chased by an unknown suspect. . . . The motive for the shooting at this time is unknown,” Sgt. Dick Faust said.

Police described Osuna, who died just several doors down from his own house, as a “known Santa Ana gang member.”
