How Happy Are Oakland Fans? 27,000 Want Ticket Information
Upon hearing that the Raiders were returning to Oakland, their fans promptly asked: “How do I get tickets?”
Within 18 hours of the announcement that the Raiders had signed a letter of intent to move back, more than 27,000 people had flooded phone lines providing information on how to purchase season tickets.
Fans can call a toll-free number to get on the mailing list for season ticket applications or pick up an application at the Coliseum on Thursday. The Raiders will offer 47,000 season tickets.
“We are dealing with a scarcity situation,” Marc Gannis, the team’s marketing consultant, said Saturday. “There will likely not be any available seats once we get beyond July 17.”
That’s the date when the season ticket applications along with a 25% deposit, are due back at the Coliseum. Applications will be drawn at random.
Fans must pay between $500 and $16,000 for a personal seat license before being allowed to purchase season tickets.
