Terrel Ray, who coached three years at Fairfax High, resigned to become an assistant football and track coach at Pasadena City College.

Ray will be in charge of football recruiting and coach the wide receivers for Chuck Lyon, who was named the Lancers head coach. Lyon replaced Dennis Gossard.

“I’m very excited about this new position,” Ray said. “It will be very challenging because we’re behind in the recruiting process. But I’m confident we will get the players to make Pasadena a winning program.”

Ray became the Fairfax football coach before the 1992 season, replacing Ron Price, who resigned after leading the Lions to consecutive Coastal Conference championships.

Ray was a teammate of O.J. Simpson on USC’s 1967 national championship team.
