Fair Chooses Doctor as Parade Marshal
A Santa Paula physician has been chosen to serve as grand marshal of the Ventura County Fair parade, to be held Aug. 19.
Dr. Charles Hair, 75, who practiced medicine in Ventura County for 38 years, was appointed by the Ventura County Fair Board of Directors to head the parade, which is being organized by Ventura Elks Lodge 1430.
After serving as a U.S. Army physician during World War II, Hair returned to Ventura County and eventually joined St. John’s Regional Medical Center. In 1974, he co-founded the Livingston Memorial Foundation, which funds health-oriented activities in Ventura County.
