San Gabriel Valley : Benefit to Raise Funds for Officer’s Memorial
- Share via
Across from the supermarket where Louis Pompei died trying to foil a robbery springs hope for a quiet green spot to remember him by.
His fellow police and other community volunteers will host a benefit today to raise money for a memorial park to honor the slain Glendora police officer, who was fatally shot June 9. Volunteers want to raise $10,000 to build the park across from the Vons market in San Dimas, where Pompei was killed. The benefit is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. at Chaparral Lanes Bowling Center in San Dimas. The $20 entry fee includes music, food and bowling. Information: (909) 592-2772.
