Witness Says Heidi Fleiss Forged Names on Documents
An FBI handwriting expert testified Wednesday that “Hollywood madam” Heidi Fleiss signed the names of her younger sister and father on client checks and escrow documents.
Special Agent William Heilman said he spent more than 80 hours analyzing 106 documents, including checks and papers associated with a loan for and the purchase of a Beverly Hills-area villa. He said he compared known samples of her handwriting to those of her father, Paul, and sister Shana.
However, Heilman admitted on cross-examination that the defendant made no attempt to imitate their handwriting.
Most of the documents, prosecutors contend, support the theory that Fleiss conspired with her pediatrician father to hide her purchase of the Tower Grove Drive home.
Defense attorney Robert Bonner contended that Fleiss had authorization to sign the documents.
