County of Orange

Board of Supervisors meeting

What: As part of the county’s bankruptcy recovery plan, the board will discuss the possibility of selling John Wayne Airport to the Orange County Transportation Authority. Supervisors also will discuss the operation of the Management Audit Oversight Committee formed earlier this year to design a comprehensive review of county spending.

What: City Manager Paul O. Brady Jr.’s contract expires Aug. 1. A renewal is listed as a consent calendar item, which requires no discussion, but Councilwoman Christina L. Shea said she will ask that the issue be removed from the consent calendar and discussed in a closed session.

City Council meeting

What: The council will consider restructuring water rates so that the average monthly bill will decrease for residents but rise for business and industrial users. Residents now subsidize water rates for businesses and industries.
