Baby Found Entangled in Bag Is Near Death
A 5-month-old infant was near death Thursday after apparently entangling himself in a plastic trash bag inadvertently left draped over the end of his crib, sheriff deputies said.
The child’s aunt called for help about 11 a.m. after finding the boy, who was not breathing, lying in his crib with a plastic bag over his upper body, Sheriff’s Capt. Dan Martini said.
A deputy who responded to the call in the 10000 block of Fern Street administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and revived the infant, who was in critical condition Thursday night at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, a hospital spokeswoman said.
