Oxnard Man Held on Suspicion of Drunk Driving

An Oxnard man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Sunday after a multi-car collision on California 126 that seriously injured two people, including the arrested driver.

Primitivo Garcia, 21, was listed in critical condition Sunday night at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital. No information was available Sunday night on the condition of Arkia Khbir, a 47-year-old woman from Casablanca, Morocco, who also sustained major injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Garcia was westbound on California 126 near Fish Hatchery Road around 12:40 p.m. when he drifted across the center line and struck two eastbound cars, one driven by Glen D. Reeves, 48, of Tempe, Ariz., and one driven by Larbi Khbir, 51, of Casablanca.

Another eastbound car, driven by Dennis Malody, 53, of San Bernardino, struck Khbir’s car. A fifth car, driven by Rose A. Walsh, swerved and overturned. Reeves, Larbi Khbir, and passengers Abdelghani and Ghita Khbir all sustained minor injuries.
