An arson fire caused $23,000 worth of damage to a Moorpark home early Tuesday, authorities said.
The fire at 15376 Bambi Court was started in several locations in the home, Ventura County Firefighter Bill Reynolds said.
The home, which was unoccupied when the fire broke out just after midnight, is for sale and the occupant was in the process of moving, Reynolds said. About $3,000 worth of contents were damaged, and the dwelling had some $20,000 in damage, he said.
About 17 firefighters responded to the one-alarm fire and put it out in eight minutes. One firefighter was treated for burns to his ears, Reynolds said.
Fire officials said the investigation will be lengthy.
