Share

Firefighters, sheriff’s deputies and emergency workers will teach Moorpark residents how to survive the next disaster, under a course the city is offering.

The seven-week course in disaster response is planned for Thursday evenings starting Sept. 14 and will cover everything from first aid to traffic control. Residents will learn how to prepare their homes and offices for earthquakes, fires and other disasters. The course will include lessons learned in the Kobe, Japan, earthquake and the Oklahoma City bombing.

The instructors will be drawn from Moorpark City Hall and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services staff.
