OUTLOOK

With 27 returning lettermen this fall, an X-factor in Vazquez--The Times Orange County player of the year in soccer--and good athletes on both sides of the ball, missing the playoffs again is unacceptable. “Very much so,” Berg said. “This summer, Vazquez showed us he is dangerous when he catches the ball. Ryerson had a real good summer league as well.” The offensive line returns three starters; Alvarez handles the running chores. The only remaining offensive question is who will kick. Otherwise, Berg said, “We’ll be right there.”
