A woman was arrested for fighting in public early Sunday after a brawl erupted in a crowd of about 200 people at Universal CityWalk, authorities said.

Shindana Blunt, 21, was arrested during a fight that started just after 1 a.m. outside the Athletic Club at Universal CityWalk, a popular shopping and restaurant attraction at Universal Studios, authorities said.

There were no injuries, officials said.

The crowd outside the club was gathered for a private party, said Sgt. Guy Earl of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

“Three or four people within the crowd started the fight, and then a large group of people initially refused to leave,” Earl said. Eventually, crowd members heeded the request to disperse. “Deputies were able to persuade the crowd to leave without incident,” he said.

Law enforcement officials say that between 30,000 and 50,000 people tour CityWalk each day. Although there have been relatively few violent incidents, the attraction was the site of the highly publicized Mother’s Day killings of Doris Carasi, 61, and Sonia Salinas, 29, allegedly stemming from a family conflict, officials say.
