Houston Oiler safety Marcus Robertson will sit out the rest of the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Robertson suffered the injury when trying to make a sideline interception during a 34-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Indianapolis Colt wide receiver Flipper Anderson probably will sit out the rest of the season after tearing knee ligaments against the New York Jets.
Anderson tore his medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee while being tackled after a 16-yard reception in the second quarter of Sunday’s 27-24 overtime victory in New York.
He is expected to have surgery in the next seven to 10 days.

Quarterback Steve Beuerlein of the Jacksonville Jaguars is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets after an MRI revealed a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. He suffered the injury in the second quarter of Jacksonville’s 24-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals when he was sacked by linebacker Ricardo McDonald.
Mark Brunell would get the start.

Michael Dean Perry, a key member of the Denver Broncos’ defense, might be ready to play Sunday against Washington, but more likely it will be against San Diego on Sept. 24, Coach Mike Shanahan said. The tackle has been rehabilitating his right knee, which he injured during the Broncos’ 22-7 victory over Buffalo in the season opener.

The Oilers are considering an agreement that would keep the team in Houston through the 1997 season. The agreement would end the team’s federal lawsuit against the city, Harris County and Astrodome USA.
