Anthony Jones rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns, and Anthony Rice carried five times for 123 yards and two touchdowns as La Verne beat Redlands, 42-17, Saturday night in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Redlands. Jones scored on touchdown runs of two, seven and 84 yards. Rice scored on runs of 31 and 83 to lead La Verne, 2-0 overall and 1-0 in conference.

Marcus Slaten rushed for 93 yards and five touchdowns to lead Azusa Pacific (2-0) to a 41-14 victory over host Whittier (0-1). . . . Curtis Robinson threw for 139 yards and three touchdowns to give Chapman (1-1) a 38-7 victory over visiting Cal Lutheran (0-1). . . . Alfredo Anderson ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns to lead Idaho State (2-0) to a 52-0 victory over Cal State Northridge at Pocatello, Ida. . . .
