JC FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Brandt-Spitzer Gives Pierce a Leg Up

Mike Brandt-Spitzer kicked four field goals to lead Pierce College to a 26-19 victory over West L.A. in a Western State Conference opener for the Brahmas on Saturday night at West Los Angeles.
Brandt-Spitzer converted from 35, 25, 32 and 47 yards. The 47-yarder extended Pierce’s lead to 26-19 with 2 minutes 28 seconds to play.
An interception at midfield by linebacker James Seidler with 2:09 to play sealed the victory for Pierce (1-1).
Pierce quarterback David Muir rushed for 93 yards in 20 carries and completed 17 of 32 passes for 179 yards.
Muir connected with Tyrone Francis for a nine-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
Muir scored on a one-yard quarterback sneak late in the first half.
