Gang Member Is Slain in Santa Ana
A 25-year-old Santa Ana man was fatally shot early Sunday in what is believed to be a gang-related attack, police said.
Gary Silva was found dead in the grass at 7:55 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Saint Gertrude Place by a resident who was backing his car out of his driveway, said Police Sgt. Eric Vedborg.
Neighbors told police they heard several shots fired about 2:30 a.m. and that is believed to be the time of Silva’s death, Vedborg said.
No suspects have been identified and no motive is known, Vedborg said. He said Silva was known to have been a gang member.
