Man Killed While Sitting in His Van
A 41-year-old man sitting in his van was shot and killed Thursday in an alley by an unidentified assailant, police said.
Marcelo Gulle had parked his vehicle in an alley in the 1200 block of Brookhurst Street about 2:45 p.m. when someone approached and shot him several times in the upper body, Police Sgt. Steve Rodig said.
Investigators said Gulle, who had lived in the area, tried to escape by pressing the van accelerator. In his attempt, his vehicle crashed into a telephone pole. The assailant left on foot.
Police discovered Gulle bleeding in the driver’s seat of the van. The victim was taken to Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim where he died, police said.
Officials said they do not have a motive for the killing.
