David Williams threw three touchdown passes and ran for another, and Claude Mathis added 216 all-purpose yards Saturday as Southwest Texas State defeated Cal State Northridge, 43-14, at San Marcos, Tex.

Williams completed 19 of 34 passes for 241 yards. Mathis ran 18 times for 128 yards, returned three punts for 63 yards, ran back a kickoff 14 yards and caught one pass for 11 yards.

Claremont-Mudd jumped to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter en route to a 41-24 victory at Menlo College. . . . Jack Ramirez ran for two touchdowns and ran for another as Pomona-Pitzer defeated host Whittier College, 21-10. . . . Fredrik Nanhed rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead Cal Lutheran to a 21-14 victory at Occidental.
