A father and daughter were being held Tuesday on $1-million bail each for allegedly stabbing a 27-year old woman to death in a knife fight that broke out on a crowded dance floor in South El Monte.

The conflict started at Joe Aldo’s Niteclub on Durfee Avenue at 1 a.m. Monday when two couples bumped into each other, witnesses told sheriff’s deputies.

Beatrice Flores, who had been dancing with her boyfriend, was taken to County-USC Medical Center with multiple stab wounds but died before she could be treated, said Deputy Mary Bice.

Juan Zamudio, 44, who had been dancing with his wife, was arrested, along with his daughter, 23-year-old Emilia Zamudio, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Relatives of the victim and the Zamudios were in the bar, Bice said, but the two groups apparently were not acquainted.
