West Valley : Governor Names 2 Residents to Bench

Two West Valley residents have been named Municipal and Superior Court judges by Gov. Pete Wilson, the governor’s office announced Tuesday.

James R. Dunn, 58, of Hidden Hills, will replace Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Raymond Cardenas, who retired, Wilson’s office said.

Dunn was formerly a partner with Bryan Cave in a Los Angeles practice from 1984 to 1994.

He was a federal public defender from 1976 to 1984.

Dunn will receive an annual salary of $107,390.

Frank Johnson of Agoura Hills will replace Municipal Judge Lloyd Wiatt, who was elevated to Superior Court.

The 43-year-old Johnson has been a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles since 1984.

He was in private practice from 1979 to 1984. He will receive a salary of $98,070 a year.

Wilson yesterday named 12 people in all to various superior and municipal court judgeships throughout the state, his office said.
