Valleywide : DWP to Discuss Plans for Improving Water

Share

The Department of Water and Power has scheduled four community meetings to discuss conceptual plans for improving water quality at the city reservoirs in Encino and Stone Canyon.

To comply with more stringent regulations for water exposed to surface water runoff by the beginning of 2003, DWP officials are considering three plans, including construction of a water treatment plant, pipelines or tunnels off reservoir property.

“We want to lay out the different concepts and get community input about public health, cost, reliability, environmental concerns and how to balance them,” DWP spokesman Stephen Ott said.
