Revenge of Bambi’s Mother Strikes Down Distance Runner

Peter Ianacone, a freshman at Loyola College in Baltimore, was run over by a deer and knocked unconscious during a recent cross-country meet--and the gags won’t stop, even from his mother.

“Now that you’ve gotten run over by a deer, does that mean you’re going to join the Elks Club?” asked Joan Ianacone, according to Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun.

One of Ianacone’s nurses asked him, “Aren’t you the dear boy that got hit by a deer?”

His favorite movies are now “The Deer Hunter” and “Bambi.”
