3 Oxnard Teens Held in Theft of Guns
Three Oxnard teen-agers were arrested with stolen guns and ammunition in their possession Tuesday afternoon, Oxnard police said.
The arrests at 4:30 p.m. occurred within an hour of a residential burglary on Ruben Street in south Oxnard in which thieves raided a private gun collection, said Oxnard Police Cmdr. Bob Elder.
Four firearms, a combination of handguns and rifles, were stolen and later found in the suspects’ possession, police said.
Two of the suspects, ages 16 and 17, were sent to Juvenile Hall. The third, an 18-year-old whose name was not released by police, is in Ventura County Jail.
The three have been charged with burglary and conspiracy.
