* At 1 p.m. in Los Angeles it was 78 degrees with winds out of the west. There was 0% chance of rain and 0% chance of professional football.

* This week, the wayback machine randomly travels to 1982, the bygone era when clubs and players were not greedy, but were loyal to their communities. Let’s see, in 1982, the players were on strike. Oops, never mind.

* In an interesting switch, the power at the Raiders’ hotel in New Jersey went out for 3 1/2 hours, forcing the team to miss its pregame film session. Apparently, the team did not sell out the film room and under new NFL rules, that now falls under local blackout policy.
