2 Injured as Shots Are Fired Into Car
Two people in a car were wounded, one critically, when someone in another car opened fire Thursday night on Beach Boulevard.
Police said the shots came from a black 1986 or 1987 Honda carrying two young men, as the cars neared Bolsa Avenue about 9:30 p.m.
The shots hit two of the three or four young people in a green Maxima, police said. One person was struck in the head, and both were in critical condition. Police did not have their names.
A 33-year-old man who said he witnessed the shooting said the attackers had appeared to be trying to catch up with the Maxima. His description of the car carrying the shooters, however, differed from that of police.
“What caught my eye was it was kind of sluggish,” he said. “He was pounding it real hard to try to catch up with the other car.”
Another witness said he heard nine to 12 shots.
The attackers remained at large.
