Pitcher Mark Kotsay was voted the most valuable player and top offensive player by his teammates on Cal State Fullerton’s NCAA championship baseball team. The team was honored Friday night at an awards dinner at the Four Seasons in Newport Beach.
D.C. Olsen was chosen honorary team captain and best teammate. Other awards went to Ted Silva (most valuable pitcher), catcher Brian Loyd (outstanding defensive player) and third baseman Tony Martinez (most improved player).
